Foster earned his Eagle Scout award by organizing a cleanup of the St. Pius X school parking lot and woods, which included waste removal and landscaping on the grounds.
Foster earned a total of 34 Merit Badges as part of his requirement to become an Eagle Scout. A sample of some of the badges he earned were: Citizenship in the Community, Nation and World, Environmental Science, Lifesaving, Small Boat Sailing and Wood Carving. Additionally, Foster has participated in leadership positions within the troop and has achieved Brotherhood membership within the Order of the Arrow Honor Society. Foster was joined by his parents Richard and Chris Lynch at the ceremony.
